A historic high rise in the Iranian city of Tehran was the center of a tragic building collapse, the result of an out of control fire. Authorities are still tallying the dead, with numbers ranging from 75 to 20 dead – most being firefighters attempting to extinguish the blaze.
The scene plays out with countless local’s recording the collapse as it happened, captured in the footage below:
Along with continuing to search for any bodies in the rubble, President Hassan Rouhani is urging the Interior Ministry to uncover the cause of the blaze.
“Iran’s state-run Press TV initially reported that 30 firefighters had been killed, without elaborating. Later, authorities said more than 20 firefighters had been killed…” [ Read more here ]
